About Me

Born with a ginormous appetite for books, I have always been an avid reader. If someone died next to me while I'm reading I wouldn't know. Well I guess I would when the body starts rotting *sniff sniff* * gag* *back to reading*. Hi, I'm Paro, short for Paromita Gupta. I'm 22 and currently pursuing a post-graduation in English. I've only just recently started my blog and I'm kind of nervous. So, here’s a shout out to all my fellow bookies. Hey there!  *waves manically to grab some attention*
Grew up in Darjeeling also known as the ‘queen of hills’ worldwide, frolicking and jumping around the tea plantations with my million dogs.(note: I love animals, had like a million dogs when growing up). I do miss the hills even though it's been quite a few years that I and my family moved to the busy city of Kolkata. The city has its own charm but nothing compares to the nothingness and by nothingness I mean nothing. Darjeeling literally has nothing - no traffic, no noise or hustle- bustle. That’s the beauty there. It’s untouched. Two decades amidst all that greenery and now I’m thrown into Kolkata’s concrete jungle, which by the way isn’t so bad.
Back to the point, an obsessive compulsive reader verging on the point of absolute insanity at times. You know when you can't stop reading and you’re walking at the same time, knocking things over, and you yell across the room at your mom, “I’m coming" and still read on? That’s when you know you’ve got a problem (at least that’s what my family prefers to believe). And I plan to do nothing about it. But I believe and know so that I’m a witch but my letter to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry got lost 11 years ago when Errol, the owl was delivering it. “That ruddy bird’s a menace”, I echo Ronald Weasley here.)
